Online Casino to Aid Africa
29 Jun 2006
Online casino sites have often been portrayed in the news as unethical and immoral aspects of society. Much news surrounding the online casino industry relates to its illegal nature and attempts to ban them. It is not very often that online casino sites have absolute positive images portrayed in the news. Slotland online casino, however, has managed to garner up some extremely positive public relations for itself. The online casino has been raising money for needy people in Africa and has finally done some ground work in building classrooms in a village in Malawi.

Slotland has built a school in a village in Malawi which will be ready in September. The online casino decided to build the school which will be central to the community. The coordinator of the project and spokesperson for the online casino said that the project must directly respond to the needs of the community. She said that it has been built and managed by the local people in order for them to feel a sense of ownership and responsibility. They said that they felt that the online casino should help set up the infrastructure and then let the villagers maintain the building themselves.

The online casino hopes that their charity initiative will encourage other online casino sites to do the same. Slotland said that positive PR in the online casino industry can never be too plentiful.
